next|gear - Software for the design of special gears

The gear cutting software next|gear was presented on two international stages in September. On the one hand at the International Conference on Gears in Munich and at the all about automation in Chemnitz.

The software solution of the imk Health Intelligence offers the possibility to design and calculate special gears and special gearboxes. This means that highly specialised gear solutions can be tailor-made with our partners. This leads to efficient gearing with unrivalled service life and silent running.

The Journal Engineering research published an article on 29 September 2023 with the title An unconstrained approach to calculating the gear geometry of plastic gears was published. Our colleague Florian Eigner, Stephan Oberle Director R&D at IMS Gear and Dr. Maik Berger Professor at TU Chemnitz were among those who contributed to this article.
In this article, the procedure of next|gear is described scientifically as well as demonstrated on a practical example of a planetary gear with a skewed planet.
Here you get to the complete article.
