Family festival of the imk Group 2026 - insights into our technological world
The imk Group's annual family party took place on the eighth of May 2026. Family members were able to experience the complex world of work up close and through child-friendly explanations. The event encouraged cross-departmental dialogue and noticeably strengthened team spirit.

Despite the cool weather and light drizzle, the family party last Friday was a complete success. Together with the staff's offspring, they braved the weather and fired up the barbecue. The varied programme ranged from sporting activities such as basketball to table tennis and table football. This relaxed atmosphere created the ideal basis for our families to familiarise themselves with the wide range of services offered by our team.

From medical technology to production planning

The supporting programme started at 16:00 in the conference room of the Technikum. Dr Trepte opened the afternoon with a vivid presentation of imk Health, followed by Prof Dr Lars Fritzsche, who introduced the activities of imk Industrial. The biggest challenge for the management was to present the highly complex products and services in an understandable way to a mixed audience of children and non-specialist adults. This task was mastered brilliantly, giving all guests a clear impression of our work.

Practical stations in the technical centre

From 4.30 p.m., the tour continued in the production area of the technical centre. At the first station, Johann demonstrated the sealing module, while Benjamin explained the functions of the extraction module and our MultiDiag multi-diagnostic analyser in detail. This was followed by an insight into the production of our Modaplex in-vitro diagnostic analyser. At around 5.00 pm, another technological highlight awaited the guests in the Merkelfabrik training room. There, Sascha offered fascinating insights into the topic of virtual reality, which was met with great enthusiasm by the younger guests in particular.

Fun, games and a cosy finale

A large arts and crafts table was available for the youngest visitors and an exciting treasure hunt made eyes light up throughout. Thanks to the many opportunities to play, the children quickly got together so that the parents had valuable time for good conversations. From 5.00 p.m. onwards, the barbecue was glowing and at 6.00 p.m. everyone enjoyed a varied evening meal. In addition to sausages and steak, there were delicious vegetable skewers, various salads and homemade dips. We ended the evening in a relaxed atmosphere around the campfire.
